Monday 23 March
From today all counselling sessions are taking place online, either by video call or over the telephone. Either option can work really well. Stay safe and well.
Friday 20 March
It is such a worrying time for us at the moment and our day to day lives are changing rapidly. I want to assure you that as your counsellor I am taking daily guidance on best practice and how to safeguard my counselling practice in the best way that I can.
I am following the official government advice and that of my professional body, The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. They have some useful information which can be found on their website.
I am continuing to hold face to face sessions and the two locations I practice from are taking measures to ensure extra cleaning is taking place; between sessions I am taking measures to reduce the risk of contamination and cross infection by wiping hard surfaces and chairs wherever this is possible.
Before the start of each session I am asking clients to confirm that they are well and I am reassuring clients that I am well. I will notify you in advance of our scheduled session if I have any symptoms of Covid-19 and I ask you please to do the same.
I am making a few practical changes to the face to face sessions going forward. I usually provide water for sessions but at the moment I am asking all my clients to either bring their own water (especially at the Regency Practice where glasses are usually provided) or to help themselves to and dispose of the biodegradable cups at Cotswold Chiropractic and Natural Health Centre. I am sure you can understand the reasons for this.
Please can I ask you not to arrive ahead of your session time, this will avoid you having to wait in an area where other people may be waiting to see other practitioners.
If at all possible I would like to move away from cash and cheque payments to BACS payments and would really appreciate this if it is possible for you.
In addition to providing face to face sessions, I offer telephone counselling and I will now also be offering online counselling. Should we decide to hold remote sessions then we will need to give some thought to having a safe and secure space for our session to take place, somewhere neither of us can be overheard or interrupted. For our remote sessions I will base myself either at my private home office or in my usual counselling premises.
I think that’s it all for now and I will update this page when necessary.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Take care and stay well.
