My Approach

My approach is to really listen to you, to help you make sense of your difficulties and help you find a way forward that will work for you. I will work with you in a warm and straightforward way, to help you find the right solutions for you.

My core counselling training is psychodynamic. The aim of psychodynamic counselling is to help us achieve insight and understanding about ourselves and our world. This insight forms the basis for change, in ourselves and in how we cope with things. I have undertaken further training in couples and relationship counselling, in solution focused therapy, in assessment processes and in bereavement and loss. My broad training enables me to help many different people and with many different difficulties.

Contact Me

If you prefer to telephone I  will be pleased to have a confidential, no obligation conversation with you to discuss your needs. If you prefer you can make contact by email. Any details you provide will remain confidential.

First session

At our first session we will be able to form an idea of what it will be like to work together in counselling and we can think about whether you will need just a few sessions or a more open ended approach. We will review the sessions on a regular basis and you will always remain in control of bringing the counselling to a close should you chose to do so. If for whatever reason I am not the right person to help you, we can think about what help you need or I can refer you to a colleague.

Fees

Individual counselling, usually weekly, is charged at £45 per 50 minute session.

Couples counselling works well either weekly or fortnightly and is charged at £60 per 60 minute session.

I appreciate that on-going counselling can represent a significant cost. Should you feel you are unable to pay the full fee please discuss this with me as I am able to offer concessions in some circumstances.

Location

I am based in Cheltenham town centre and Bishop’s Cleeve, both easily accessible from Tewkesbury, and Gloucester.
